Why do we start fitness as part of new year resolution and drop after first week of Jan?
Why don't we have enough motivation to continue the journey ?
Where do we really start ?
Let me ask few questions........
Do we consume drugs every day -I hope no . May be never in life.
Why? We know that it is going to have immediate effect on your health. you know it.
What about Alcohol/Smoke- Mostly the answer is "occasionally."(Not advised even occasionally too if you want your health).You know no immediate effect if it is occasional.
Why not daily ? It has got medium term effects, which can affect health.
(People who are outlayers are excused, hope they are not reading it )
We got enough knowledge on dangers of drugs/alcohol/smoke).But when it come to eating healthy/fitness ,we don't have enough information.
That's because of many many myths floating around. I used to hear " you are 180 cm's you can be 80 kg, no problem" .But we never know what's in that 80Kg.
So we decide not to do any exercise/not to have a balanced diet as you are 80kg or below. When it becomes 84Kg, you find the next excuse - "it is only 4kg extra ,i don't look fat anyway.Chalta hei"
How many of us took photos by holding breath ,just to hide belly ;) .That's new normal!
When someone is ending up having any kind of life style disease- Cholestrol,Diabetes,BP .The Doctor just say - " It is normal after some age.Start doing some exercises and take these tablet" ,our smart brain just find the convenience of doing some walking for a week and continuing with the tablets. The route cause is never addressed ,that's having a clean/balanced diet along with active life.
How many of use so called "advertised health drinks" ? Did we any time put efforts to check what's in it and how is it going to help us.How many of you read the ingriedent labels of any products before buying.? Most of us don't even see it.We think it is good,because it is in our brain through the repeat advertisements.
Start reading about healthy eating,ways for fitness on a regular basis.Do some research on what we eat, drink.
I am sure you will learn something everyday.Slowly healthy living will come from your heart.Fitness/Healthy eating can be in our life only if you have knowledge about it.Something like cricket - everyone know the rules, players etc.So you can watch it and enjoy it.The way you never saw a billiards match,most of us don't enjoy it because we have no idea about the game.
Let's interact here, get more and more knowledge from the experts and see where it takes us...There is no destination ,it only a journey .The more the knowledge we get ,the more the involvement will be from our side ,Results will follow slowly.Once results are in- we will start enjoying it..........
