On the Fishermen & their nets
Good time to talk people from different streams of work and understand how are they dealing with their business. This will lead us to many ideas of #connectingEffectively in a novel way using technology in the way #unimagined by the technologist who made that in the first place.
Got a chance to speak friend's father, who is from Kerela on this subject, as to how they are managing since these days, the demand for fish is extremely low (there are still some who take their diet in remote parts of Kerela, he said). As per him, the nets they use are all old, and had spots which allowed the fishes to escape, but they never got time to mend those. Because of this forced situation, they have got time to look at the nets and mend those. He said, this is going to help them be much more effective next time they are in waters.
I think it is time we look at our broken nets and invest in mending those.
While speaking to him, he made one more good point, almost philosophical, he said, we don't catch little fish, so we can't stay on shallow waters. Since we catch big ones, we have to go deeper and it is rough there sometimes. Down deep, the fishes are powerful, but pure. And beautiful,l he said. It is worth the risk we take. The sea wont take our lives, we keep that faith on the God of Sea, and having that taken care of, we are ready to take any other risks. So we go deep, we hold the patience and catch the big ones! At times those are the 'rascals' who tear away our nets, if we were limited to catching the fishes in shallow our nets would be good as new. But then we would be getting only little ones, and we love the big ones, the pure ones.
Indeed, are we doing incremental things and enjoying the shallows or taking the risks and going deeper.

4 年A great insight and a thought leadership! If I consider Shallow here as 'Comfort-Zone' and Deep as 'Challenge-Zone', I can certainly say these pause times are rare to have in one's life! We probably are the rare beings having this Privilege(although it came as an unfortunate Pandemic) pause across the world! We can use this time to think about the obstacles we foresee and means to counter them in our journey from Shallow to Deep Water!
