As British seafood exporters face a crisis over the 'inspection' problem highlighted in my Rx Video on Brexit -ED it would be good to know how our big fish importers such as Tesco, Sainsbury, Waitrose, Aldi, Morrisons etc are trying to help.
Tesco is by its own admission both Britain's biggest fish importer and largest fishmonger. The others are pretty big too. Can they and others adjust their supply chains to help solve both their supply problem and the fish industry's crisis - caused by a complete lack of planning and understanding of what would happen post - BREXIT by negotiators who had no idea of the consequences on the ground of what they were saying and doing...and predicted by my Rx video.
It would be good to know what DEFRA are doing - except admitting they had no idea Boris was going to give the fish industry some help!!!!
Farmers will be next - so how about a properly planned DEFRA initiative to get more British produce into the supermarkets. Better late than never.
