THE FIRST YEAR OF LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT

As the seasons shift and time meanders like a river, I look back with immense joy and gratitude on my inaugural year at ERAM Power Electronics Pvt. Ltd. In the words of Nathaniel Hawthorne, 'time flies over us, but leaves its shadows behind.' My first year in this hub of excellence has imprinted numerous cherished memories in my mind, serving as an enduring source of inspiration and a constant impetus for personal and professional growth.

??????????? I commenced my journey at ERAM on October 17, 2022, stepping into the corporate realm as a newcomer. Until that point, my professional life had revolved around the role of a lecturer. The transition was undeniably challenging at first. I couldn't help but feel like an outsider, navigating the corporate world alongside seasoned technocrats and experienced colleagues.

??????????? My initial days were marked by a sense of self-consciousness, as I believed my behavior was somewhat unconventional in this new environment. However, it was a pleasant surprise to witness the genuine hospitality of our CEO, Jacob Thomas , and our Vice President, Basil Issac . Despite their preoccupation with the preparations for important visitors, both of them took the time to visit the back-end office and extend a warm welcome to me.

??????????? Amidst the meticulous arrangements for the upcoming visit, they made the effort to personally greet every employee in the office, a gesture that left a lasting impression on me and introduced me to a new facet of corporate culture.

??????????? Gradual transformation began when my reporting manager, Basil Issac , entrusted me with smaller tasks and assignments. It was under his guidance that I began to unravel the intricacies of the corporate realm. Initially, I harbored doubts about my adaptability to this new environment, as the traces of my convent education and my experience as a teacher constantly tugged me back toward the academic world.

??????????? My colleagues would often comment on my teacher-like disposition, noting that I tended to provide detailed, essay-like responses even to simple Yes/No questions. However, as time passed and I delved deeper into my role, I started shedding my old skin and embracing the mindset of a corporate professional.

??????????? Although our office had commenced operations on January 17, 2022, the official inauguration took place on August 21, 2023. To my astonishment and delight, I was bestowed with the role of the Mistress of Ceremonies, a privilege that I received when Basil Issac , my manager, informed me about it. While I was excited, I was also filled with uncertainty, given the presence of our Chairman and other distinguished guests at the event. It was in this moment of self-doubt that Basil Issac once again came to my aid.

??????????? During a time when I felt low and my energy levels waned, he provided much-needed reassurance, assuring me that everything would go smoothly. When I handed over the literature, I had prepared for the hosting role, he didn't read through it; instead, he left a note saying, 'waiting for tomorrow.' That simple message held profound significance, and it dawned on me just how much he believed in my capabilities and competence.

??????????? The inaugural session proceeded flawlessly, and all the accolades that came my way for my performance truly belonged to him. It was on that day that I realized an essential truth: while we often congratulate individuals for their achievements, we frequently overlook the invaluable support provided by those who enable those achievements to happen.

??????????? I have been granted an additional role as a Senior Human Resource Executive by our management. I am eager to embrace this new challenge and aspire to excel in this capacity, striving to bring honor to all those who have placed their trust in me.

?? ?????????I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the management, our CEO, Jacob Thomas , our Vice President, and my Reporting Manager, Basil Issac , as well as my colleagues for making this past year at the firm so memorable. I look forward to continued progress and the creation of more enduring memories together.
