First Work Anniversary at POPxo

We're completing one year at @POPxo tomorrow. By we, I mean my son and me. Yes, I joined POPxo on Sep 3rd 2018, but not alone. I joined with my 2 and a half months old baby, Rohman.

How it started?

It was Aug, I was still healing from a c-section but mentally I just wanted to bounce back to my life and work at the soonest. And someone who agreed to take a risk of hiring a hyperactive soul like me is the founder of POPxo, @Priyanka Gill. She is the best <3

Though I was nervous.

Nervous because I had joined a new organization with an average employee age of 22 yrs, very few were married or had kids.. I was anxious of how the team would react to the presence of a baby in the office for the whole day (though the office has always been baby-friendly but no baby had been there earlier for the whole day, everyday).

I also didn't how Rohman would react to all the arrangements I was doing just to continue my work. 

Anyway with all the doubts and fears in my mind, I begun. We used to reach office early in the morning.

I had a lot to do so I was usually in the meetings or working. I would only go to his room to feed him. (I insisted to sit outside with my team though initially my sitting arrangement was done in the same room). And slowly I saw that whenever I went to meet him in his room, he was surrounded by the youngsters playing with him. 

He also seemed to enjoy and hardly needed me except for his food. 

It was a relief. :)

POPxo Office = Rohman's Second Home

We celebrated his monthly birthdays in the office.. Most of his milestones including sitting, crawling and even walking were achieved during office hours. When he walked without his walker or any other support for the first time, office buddies made his videos and sent to me. I was not around. And atleast 7 people excitedly told me that he has started walking and they were amongst the ones who saw him walking first.:)

I usually get notifications where Rohman gets tagged on Instagram by his office friends in their selfies with him..

In fact he is such a good friend with @shuchi (our HR Head) and others in the HR team that when I am not in office, I literally get messages like "Neha, you work from home if you want but send Rohman to office.." hahaha

It was a super hot day and Shuchi decided to let Rohman eat some ice-cream.. (I told you, they are such good friends.. )

One year passed and from a small baby who used to just Eat.Sleep.Poop.Repeat, Rohman has become a little monster who yells, runs around in the office and let anyone eat their own food only after he gets his share.. Yet everyone loves him so much that they even bring food and fruits that he likes..

And with this all the fear in my mind has now disappeared.

I am so glad that I decided what I decided a year back. It not only allowed me to do what I wanted but also made Rohman a lot more social, happier and adaptable child. I can't thank these people enough for making it possible. I owe you a lot.
