First Warning Signs of Pneumonia

Pneumonia is an illness that causes the air sacs in one or both lungs to become inflamed. The severity of pneumonia can range from minor to life-threatening. The signs and symptoms of pneumonia range from minor to severe, depending on the type of germ causing the infection, as well as your age and overall health. Here are the first warning signs of Pneumonia:
1.Chest pain when you breathe or cough
2. Confusion or changes in mental awareness (in adults age 65 and older)
3. Fatigue
4. Fever, sweating and shaking chills
5. Lower than normal body temperature (in adults older than age 65 and people with weak immune systems)
6. Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea
You should see a health professional if you have difficulty breathing, chest pain, persistent fever of 102 F (39 C) or higher, or persistent cough, especially if you're coughing up pus.
