Dan Holmes was a wonderful man and loved collector of Large Cents, who later sold his collection of early large cents on September 9th 2009 in Beverly Hills, California. The sale and auction was a record breaking sale which was followed by thousands of EAC members. Ira and Larry Goldberg hosted the event and auction. The Catalog and consignment was also handled by M&G auctions and done extremely well, It was a wonderful day for myself and a client. The sale started 10 AM on the 9th Sunday. purchased over 4 million in coins there, more then 2 million for my client alone. I also bought for myself and inventory three more very interesting coins, I purchased the two Strawberry leaves, which are 1793 NC, Large Cents. One was unique and the other was the second finest of only three coins known. I also purchased the famous 1794 Liberty cap, Sheldon 64, large cent, missing fraction bar, graded by PCGS MS64RED-BR. Paul Gilkes from Coin World was the photographer and wrote the article.
