First time off the Blocks

First time off the Blocks

Welcome to my first newsletter.

"Having deep faith in yourself and what you have to offer is essential when you want to move forward. Realigning your career is a transformative journey and an exploratory process. During our time together, we will explore your deeper motivations and how results that matter to you can be achieved."

I'm Michael Laws and I’m delighted to be able to introduce myself to you and tell you a little about my background and passion for offering careers coaching services.? I’ve worked in the recruitment industry for many years and decided to retrain and qualify as a careers coach so that I could combine my expertise in the careers industry with my personal experience gained in helping people from all walks of life, challenge their preconceptions and take a fresh look at how to move ahead.

My aim is to help you assess your current working situation and consider whether you are on course with your career or whether you should explore new avenues.? Of course, you may just want the basics such as an updated CV and coaching in preparation for job applications and interviews, which is just fine.?

I often find that people have become stuck in their roles and sometimes there are other factors at work behind the scenes, including that old favourite “I’m not good enough”!? If you wish to explore these elements with me, you may find that the door opens to making exciting new choices.?

Ultimately, I want people to enjoy their work and many of my clients have given me feedback to tell me that they have found the missing key to unlock their potential.

So that’s me in a nutshell.? I would be delighted to talk to you about your situation and aspirations.?

Please don’t hesitate to book a free discovery call. Just visit the contact page on my website at www.realign-your-career.co.uk and send me a request.

Championships!

You will find that I sometimes write in my posts about male mental health. It's a passion of mine. Over the years I've worked with many guys suffering from mental ill health and it continues in my private client work as a careers alignment coach. (I will speak more about career alignment in my next newsletter.)

There seems to be a lot of support for women in the workplace and of course they have notoriously struggled to be respected, promoted and treated equally.

I understand the need and the want to have female only groups.

BUT men struggle too. As they say 'same meat - different gravy!'

Here's a copy of a post that I made previously.

Men are from Mars. We all know that!

Arrogant and egos abound. Dictators and feudal. Controlling and bullish.

Suicidal and hopeless. PARDON ME!

Mental health issues. Family pressures. Financial pressures.

Society and cultural expectations.

Big boys don't cry. No need for words. Nothing to see here. Man up!

Let me tell you my clients are a mix of male and female and the similarities outweigh the differences. The backstories may vary but the results are very similar. Speak out. Speak up. Contact me.

Interviews - some strange folk love them. Most do not.

Many of my clients speak of fear, anxiety or freezing and looking stupid.

Interviews are to be respected of course. They are the gateway to a new job.

Feared no!

You have equal worth and value in that room.

Be prepared of course. Value their time of course. Present yourself in the best possible light of course.

Be in fear NO!

If we work together you will have nothing to fear by this stage.

I will support you to claim and tell the truth of who you are, who you were born to be.

In the meantime if you would like a copy of my interview guide, just click on the link below;

It's meant to firstly amuse you as it's a bit of a dry subject and then guide you to success. I hope you and those around you, enjoy it and benefit from it.
