First Thursdays!

What’s the First Thursday of the Month without a Womandla Newsletter?!

October was an exciting month for us as we celebrated our Cape Town Cohort Mentorship Graduation! The hall was filled with pride and joy, as distinguished guests, parents, teachers, and learners gathered for a moving morning of reflection, music, and celebration. We were thrilled to hear the principal of our adopted school share that the majority of the Top 20 learners there are Womandla mentees. This achievement is a testament to the leadership, social skills, and emotional wellness our mentorship program instills, making a positive impact on learners’ lives. Halala to the children and mentors alike for their incredible dedication this year!

This success was made possible thanks to the generous support from Work of Love Creations, Coronation Fund Managers, Every Nation N1 City, Kellanova, and Jockey. South Africa’s leading brands are consistently showing their commitment to gender equality and quality education.

In the latest podcast episode, our host Amandla Kwinana sits down with Dr. Shauna Weatherspoon, Founder of Raising Our Daughters Foundation, to discuss what it means to be an empowered woman. Dr. Shauna shares her personal journey and her passion for initiatives like Womandla Foundation’s Dignity Drive, which supports girls in need. Listen to the full episodes here:

WATCH the Womandla Overview 2024:

This holiday season, we’d love to show our appreciation to our network of over 30 volunteers, who generously dedicate their time and energy to our community. Your support would help us express our gratitude to these incredible individuals and their families. Donations are tax-deductible through a Section 18A certificate.

Beyond this holiday initiative, we’d also love to explore the potential for deeper partnerships. If you’re interested in collaborating on our Mentorship, Entrepreneurship, Skills development, or STEAM initiatives and would like to discuss potential synergies, we’d be delighted to set up a time to connect. Email our Grants and Partnerships coordinator, Samu: [email protected]

Thank you for your ongoing support, and for considering this opportunity to help us spread some holiday cheer and deepen our impact together. Above is a video capturing the heart of our work and our vibrant community.

Seasons Greetings,
