First steps in replacing your ERP system

There comes a time when a company decides to implement a new ERP system. This does not happen very often, because such a project is risky and requires a lot of resources.

The current (legacy) system may be old, no longer suitable to meet the changing business demands and may require additional applications to manage some processes. Operating procedures could be too complex and non-standard (true especially for global organizations). Users may be facing problems related to connectivity and performance. The Management may not be able to obtain proper and updated figures to support decisions.

These are some of the reasons pushing organizations to take the first step in what could be a long, painful, and difficult adventure. Alternatives then need to be analysed. Timelines need to be agreed. Budget and Management backing need to be secured.

So how do you get started? That and more in the next post…

Wishing you a Happy Sukkot.
