First Robotics Competition Celebrates Youth Robotics and Automation in Houston
The first Robotics Competition in Houston this past week was a great event that celebrated great youth robotics and automation skills, teamwork, sportsmanship in a tremendous competition.
Thousands of students, mentors, families, robotic enthusiasts, and Sponsors such as NASA, Magna and Disney as well as A3 members Rockwell, Caterpillar, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Zebra Technologies poured into Houston to watch, compete and support the event.
Even Johnson Space Center was beyond capacity with all the students from all over the World hitting the sites. This weekend was a busy time in Houston. The anniversary of the Battle of San Jacinto was Friday. There were Earth Day activities in downtown Houston as well. There were more than 16,000 participants from all over the globe. Hopefully we can keep these students and robot scholars in the pipeline.
The contest will be in Houston again next Spring. A3 is looking forward to partnering with the First Robotics Competition to promote robotics and automation careers and activities that enable students to gain greater knowledge about the highly rewarding careers in Robotics and Automation.
We hope to see you and many of these students at America’s Largest Robotics and Automation event, Automate23, in Detroit May 22nd through May 25th. May 25th is Workforce Day.
