The first re-write of my next book begins today.
A couple of years ago with my first book, I received the edit back from my editor and I cried.
I was confronted seeing all the red cross-outs and suggestions from her. Some of what I thought was wonderful was completely crossed out.
I closed my computer and did anything else but re-write for quite a while.
I confided in my dear friend Krissy Kneen how upset I was.
She said, “All that red means the editor is thorough. They aren’t doing their job if there isn’t red in many places, potentially every line will have some red. Even the best authors have red marks everywhere”. Sound advice. Krissy is an incredible writer and I respect her opinion.
So, I toughened up. I would rather have a good book out there than something that only I think is good. When I saw all the red with this next book. I was thrilled that my editor cared enough to want this book to be excellent. She is great at what she does.
Even as a dyslexic person, with a good editor, I can clearly express myself in writing.
This book is for you. Yes, you reading this right now.
I want you to find my book easy to follow and understand, practical, thought-provoking and inspiring. I want your life to improve because you have read my book.
So, here I go with the first re-write.
