First Power Flow, New PPA, and Nature Enhancement at 5.5 GW Project

Shortly after the news that Hollandse Kust Zuid, now the world's largest operating wind farm, was completed, the Dutch offshore wind industry had more updates to share, including the first power produced by the new Hollandse Kust Noord #offshorewind farm. The 759 MW Hollandse Kust Noord offshore wind farm in the #Netherlands, developed by CrossWindHKN , a joint venture between 壳牌 and Eneco , has produced first power and delivered it via TenneT Netherlands ’s offshore grid to the mainland. Full production of green electricity is expected by the end of 2023.

Iberdrola Deutschland and SHS - Stahl-Holding-Saar GmbH & Co. KGaA have signed a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) for the Baltic Eagle offshore wind farm, under which the two steel companies in #Germany, Dillinger and Saarstahl, will use the clean electricity to decarbonise their steel production operations.

In #Sweden, OX2 has signed a letter of intent with Ecopelag to investigate the possibilities for large-scale cultivation of blue mussels at the Aurora offshore wind farm, which is planned to have 370 wind turbines and a total installed capacity of 5.5 GW.
