The First Ocean Swim Out

Ocean pools genuinely achieve this, although infinity pools undoubtedly display jaw-dropping views and frequently give the impression that they meld with the sea. The first ocean pool in the Caribbean has officially opened at Turks & Caicos' ultra-luxury Wymara Resort + Villas on Grace Bay Beach. With powdery soft white beaches and dazzling turquoise seas, the 3,900 square foot pool is situated at the palm-lined Sunset Cove. It is 130 feet long and 30 feet broad.

Guests of the villas have access to the ocean pool, which is a feature of the resort's Villa Beach Club. Additionally, resort visitors can purchase day permits for the ocean pool for $75 per person

Fresh ocean water from the Atlantic replenishes this special swimming hole. This indicates that the pool's depths are influenced by the natural tides, with the shallow end varying in depth from 3 to 5 feet and the deep end measuring 6 to 9 feet.

One of the greatest times to take a plunge in the pool is at high tide, when the natural stone barriers vanish and the pool merges with the Atlantic. The pool also has a soft, sandy bottom throughout.

The ocean pool at Wymara Resort + Villas was designed by the resort's owner, Bruce Maclaren, a Canadian-born businessman who lived in Australia for 20 years. Ocean pools there are common and date back to the 1800s.

The pool was carved out of more than 1,500 tons of boulders, which serves to break the waves so you can lap swim in salt water. The pool is spanned by a timber deck, which opens up to a tranquil setting where resort visitors can sunbathe while sipping cocktails.

Maclaren intends to introduce a brand-new beachside eatery and offer ocean pool day passes. However, Wymara Resort + Villa guests only currently have access to the Ocean Pool at Sunset Cove Beach. Guests also have access to the poolside Tiki Bar, which serves wine, beer, and cocktails (how about a Turks rum punch?).

The resort has 91 studios and suites, a 7,000 square foot infinity pool, a spa, restaurants, and bars in addition to the new ocean pool. In addition to serving casual fare and inventive drinks that are mindfully crafted and adorned with ingredients like coconut ice cubes, passion fruit puree, and edible flowers, Indigo focuses on using local and sustainable seafood. Zest and Pink Bar also provide casual fare.
