We are thrilled to present the Develop Africa Annual Report for 2023. This comprehensive overview unveils the stories, projects, and initiatives that have shaped Develop Africa's mission to empower communities and foster sustainable development.?

The 2023 Annual Report serves as a compass, guiding you through the significant contributions and advancements that have marked Develop Africa's dedication to sustainable development. It has been a year filled with growth, impact, and transformative change, and we are excited to share the highlights of our journey with you.

STEM training - Legos Mindstorms


Mission Recap:

We strategically empower lives in Africa by providing educational opportunities and strengthening self-reliance so individuals, families, and communities can create positive change in their lives. Over 20,000 children, youths, and adults in 10 countries have received various forms of support since 2006.


Key Achievements of 2023:

Education Empowerment:

  • Constructed and equipped Kamawornie Nursery School with furniture and learning materials.
  • Piloted a Lego project with ten boys.
  • Completed 12 mentoring sessions for boys and girls.
  • Provided comprehensive school support to 142 children, ensuring access to quality education.
  • Shipped 61 drums filled with donated school supplies to Sierra Leone.



  • Supported seven students for the WASSCE exam, enabling them to advance to higher education or other career paths.
  • Provided vocational training support to 3 students and college tuition support to 11 students.
  • Provided after-school lessons benefiting students like Marie from Kamawornie Village.
  • Provided 135 FAWE students with computer training
  • Provided 180 youth & young adults with computer training at Juba Hall

Child Sponsorship Program:

  • Facilitated 95 child sponsorships, fostering meaningful connections between sponsors and children.
  • Sponsors and sponsored children exchanged photos, letters, and videos, strengthening relationships.
  • One sponsor even traveled to Sierra Leone to meet her sponsored child.


Health and Wellness:

  • Continued support provided insecticide-treated nets to families in Sierra Leone, protecting them from mosquito bites.
  • Supported families with food support

  • Donor support provided microfinance loans, empowering small businesses like Mariatu's.
  • Hawa & Mohamed received computer training, enhancing their skills for success in today's technology-driven environment.


Impact Assessment: ?

  • Conducted impact assessments in Freetown and Bo, unveiling noteworthy advancements in project goals.

?Partnerships and Collaborations:

  • Collaborated with partners like Computer Equipment for Kids, recycling hundreds of items and benefiting African youths.


Recognition and Appreciation:

  • Various organizations and individuals contributed school supplies and support, including Kiwanis K-Kids, Nola and family, the University of Hartford, Women’s Advancement Initiative, and Douglas.
