[Bangkit Academy led by Google, Tokopedia, Gojek, & Traveloka X MSIB Kampus Merdeka ]
In this life sometimes there are many things that we cannot expect and there are certainly good things that will come at any time and time. My struggle and hard work in achieving what I want to join Bangkit Academy is not in vain and this is an honor for me.
Therefore, I don't just want to keep this story to myself and want to share my learning journey at Bangkit Academy led by Google, Tokopedia, Gojek, & Traveloka with you guys.
Here is a recap of my first month studying at Bangkit Academy during February 16th - March 16th.
- My first week's journey studying at Bangkit Academy began when I took an important basic learning fundamental for Bangkit participants, namely the English pre-test. Of course this English pre-test is very helpful for me in knowing how deep my basic knowledge is and of course after getting the final results of the pre-test it can be an evaluation material for me to learn to be even better. Then I also participated in mandatory sessions that have been scheduled on Google Calender such as participating in "Bangkit 2024 Empower Your Tomorrow: Unlocking Your Infinite Potential" where we learned how to see ourselves as someone who has unlimited potential, "Technical Briefing", and "Student Team Meeting 1".? Then besides that, I also learned about the basic topics provided by the Dicoding Academy platform, namely "Programming Logic 101", "Getting Started with Basic Programming to Become a Software Developer", and "Learning the basics of GIT with GitHub".
- Then also in the second week I did learning on Coursera on the topic of Google IT Support tasks and there were two things that I had successfully done, namely "The Bits and Bytes of Computer Networking", where here I learned about the introduction of how networks can be formed, data transmission, network protocols, the structure of the existing network layers and much more. Then I also learned about "System Administration and IT Infrastructure Services" which studied how our introduction as an IT Infrastructure service administration, what kind of Operating system is used, storage management mechanisms, how to back up in the event of a disaster and what kind of mitigation and so on.
- Continuing in the third week on the coding platform, I learned about basic web programming, where I got a lot of good knowledge from how to structure well in HTML, CSS and Javascript, how the three can complement each other which is likened to HTML is the bone structure that makes up the body, CSS is the skin that covers the bone structure and Javascript is the brain that runs all commands in the human body. After a long time learning many things there, until I made a welcome website project to the province where I am currently located. From making the project I can really implement all the learning that has been given by Dicoding.
- Next, in the last week there was a Google Cloud Skill Boost course with the topic Google Cloud Computing Foundations, where there were 8 badges that I had completed. In Google Cloud Computing Foundations there is a module with learning in the form of both video and text modules which I think need time to fully understand the material. It can be by repeating the videos that I have learned and reading the modules that have been provided again. In addition, there are also quizzes that must be done after completing 1 chapter per each material and LAB which is very useful for sharpening the understanding of the material.
- Behind all that, of course, every week I have weekly consultations with CC-34 mentors who really care about what the participants want to ask and are cool in presenting each weekly session, each of which has a fun way to entertain me and other friends as participants. The mentor is Kak
Zirlyfera Zakiya Maulidia
. In my opinion, she is a mentor who really carries out her duties very well, is very care to the participants and every interaction given is definitely new and exciting things. Thank you Kak Zirly.
- In that month I also regularly attended Instructor-led Training (ILT) sessions with a total of 5 classes that I attended. Of the 5 classes, there was a Soft skills ILT with the topic "Growth Mindset and The Power Of Feedback". Here it really made me realize how important it is for us as participants to think in a growth way and get rid of Fixed Mindset thoughts which of course can hinder our development to be even better. Then next is the ILT Soft skill "Time and Energy Management", where I can learn more about how to manage time and energy in implementing everything so that it is more efficient and does not create obstacles when doing things.
- For example, when we have a task that has a deadline, of course we have to do it immediately so that in the future our work does not accumulate and of course our energy must be maintained by getting enough sleep or you could say less staying up late. In addition to ILT Soft skills, there is also ILT Cloud Computing with "Navigating the Google Cloud: Your First Steps". Here I learned how the steps I had to take when I set foot on the first Google Cloud. Of course this is very useful especially for me who is still a beginner and does not really understand what to do in Google Cloud. Finally, there was the ILT English session "Spoken Correspondence", which was no less interesting to learn more about how to communicate both when meeting ordinary people and when we work in a company. I really enjoyed this session and was motivated by this ILT.
Maybe from the things I have told you enough until here, see you in my next story!
