■The Lincolnshire site has become the first new franchise to open since Lithia's acquisition of Pendragon was completed last month. Lithia emerged victorious in the bidding process, beating a joint offer from Hedin and Penske Automotive, the owner of Sytner, and a bid from AutoNation, the largest dealer group in America.

After the change to MG is finalized, the current staff, including head of business Alex Kohn, will be retained

Confirming the switch, Axel Kohn told car Dealer Magazin:

"We are thrilled to announce that MG has joined the Evans Halshaw roster. MG has some exciting new models launching in 2024 and aims to become the tenth-largest brand by volume in the UK this year. It is a fantastic opportunity for Evans Halshaw to partner with MG at this time."

After the change, the dealership will continue to be a Ford-authorized repair site to help local customers with their post-sales needs.

Evans Halshaw Vauxhall, part of the Lithia UK family, is one of the largest automotive retail groups globally.

Lithia operates over 500 branches and generates a revenue of over 50 billion dollars.

This positions Lithia as a significant player in the UK automotive market.

MG Motor UK Limited, trading as MG or MG Motor, is an automotive company headquartered in London and owned by the Shanghai-based Chinese state-owned automaker SAIC Motor.

The current form of the company was established in 2009, two years after SAIC Motor acquired Nanjing Automobile, another Chinese company that first developed the marque in 2005.

Under Nanjing Automobile ownership, the company was once known as NAC MG UK Limited.
