The first meeting with your contractor doesn't have to be stressful. Here’s how we take the pressure off.

Choosing to remodel a home is a major decision. When we first meet homeowners, we take the pressure off with a short series of baseline questions to help them feel more confident about their decision.

Our goal for the conversation is simple. We want to get to know the owner’s needs, desires and expectations. And we want the homeowners to feel comfortable asking us questions.?

During our first meeting, we discuss:

  1. What do you like or dislike about your present home?
  2. Describe the project you are considering.
  3. Why are you considering this project now?
  4. What do you hope to gain from the project?
  5. What are your present and future needs?
  6. Is your style contemporary, traditional, or somewhere in between? Tip: gather pictures from magazines or show us your Pinterest boards to convey the look or details you are after.
  7. How do you see yourself going through the process of selecting a remodeling contractor?
  8. How do you see yourself going through the design process?
  9. What is your target investment? We'll need to have a frank and honest discussion of how much you want to invest in your home. We can only estimate how much your project will cost.
  10. How will you finance the project? Will you refinance or use cash?
  11. What is important to you in a remodeling company? Design? Experience? Single source of responsibility? Craftsmanship? Processes like scheduling and budgeting? Other attributes?
  12. How long do you plan to stay in your home?

Preparation is key.? For more ideas on how to clarify your remodeling goals and expectations, download our Free Remodeling Guide.
