2024 has just started - and if the last few years taught humanity something - it would be that it’s hard to tell what each year brings. Last year started amidst recession fears but ended on a positive note with the growth spurt of AI and the industry fully bouncing back from the pandemic
As we look into the new year, it’s important to reflect on everything that happened last year.?
2023 was a phenomenal year for Xenoss. It was also exciting for me—partly because we decided to bring the idea of a personal newsletter to life with this MadTech digest.?
Soon, this newsletter will be celebrating its own 1-year anniversary. I want to thank everyone who took the time to explore my biweekly write-up. By the way, do you remember what was the topic of the first MadTech Digest??
Spoiler alert: I created a recap of AdTech trends for 2023.?
In the next digest, I will cover AdTech predictions for 2024.
If you want to get a biweekly share of AdTech and MarTech discussions, subscribe to the newsletter and get an email notification when new digests are out.?
Meanwhile, in this edition, I want to summarize the peak points of 2023 for Xenoss and share the milestones that made me feel like we are getting one step closer to our purpose–accessible MarTech and AdTech innovation.
Let’s get started!
A year of recognition
While industry awards and recognition are not the company’s key focus, these accolades prove that we are headed in the right direction on the mission to empower AdTech with streamlined engineering workflows and innovative tech tools.?
In 2023, Xenoss was part of Inc.5000, a list of fastest-growing US-based companies.?
It was an honor to be part of the ranking with a decades-long reputation that popularized the names of Microsoft, Facebook, Uber, and more.?
Last year, we ranked #92 in the Software category and were the only company representing AdTech software development.?
We were honored by this level of recognition and once more realized the growing importance of technology adoption in advertising and marketing.?
A year of collaboration
In 2023, Xenoss remained dedicated to assisting AdTech vendors in building high-load advertising and marketing systems for both advertisers and publishers.
One of our clients has been collaborating with Xenoss's development team to create a high-load DOOH solution. In another initiative, we're leveraging predictive algorithms to support publishers in boosting audience engagement with on-page ads. In 2024, we plan on building innovative features that help AdTech and MadTech leaders reach their business goals.?
A year of events
Despite AdTech taking some time to readjust post-pandemic, by 2023, it was safe to say that industry events are back to business as usual. My team at Xenoss started the year with a bang: Dmitry Sverdlik ?? ??ReInvent by AWS LA , the CEO of Xenoss, attended Industry Preview 2023 hosted by AdExchanger . The event gave us an outline of the upcoming years in terms of trends, emerging technologies, and industry discussions.?
We continued exploring AdTech trends by attending the Retail Technology Show in London, an event dedicated to innovative solutions in brick-and-mortar retail as well as e-commerce. Other empowering AdTech insights and conversations came from The AWS Summit in Berlin, The Trinity Lunch, DMEXCO, and other industry conferences.?

As for the pinnacle of the year, it can be no other conference than the Cannes Festival. In 2023, we made our debut in Cannes and realized that the value and scale of the event were worth the hype. On a personal note, I was thrilled to catch up with Mike Nicholson and record an episode for Six Sells .?
A year of partnerships
In my opinion, last year clearly demonstrated how important teamwork and collaboration were for our industry. It was inspiring to see how alliances helped companies create more engaging events, release better projects, and seek consensus on polarizing industry topics, be it the YouTube Ads COPPA compliance debate or the implications of agencies working with fossil fuel companies.?
At Xenoss, we felt empowered by our amazing partners throughout the year. We were excited to join forces with Aerospike in combining first-class real-time database technology with first-rate engineering expertise.?
In 2023, we co-hosted and spoke at numerous conferences, among which Real-Time Connect in February and Aerospike Summit in November.?
Xenoss also started a meaningful and highly impactful partnership with Amazon Web Services. As a Level 1 Amazon Web Services partner, we are on track to becoming a reliable link between AWS technologies and AdTech teams that can benefit from leveraging their full power.?
Last but not least, Xenoss joined advertising and tech associations, such as the Software Development Association (SODA) in Poland.?
We are grateful to our partners for the continuous exchange of ideas and their willingness to conquer new milestones in AdTech side-by-side with Xenoss.?
A year of collaboration with industry media outlets
In my opinion, Xenoss has a unique view of AdTech. While taking a birds-eye-view approach to the industry is common, our engineering expertise enables us to examine trends from the inside out, inquiring about their operational efficiency, cost, time-to-market, and more.?
In 2023, we saw a lot of interest in this type of perspective from the media. Xenoss CTO Vova Kyrychenko wrote a piece on demystifying the AI hype for VideoWeek . I wrote a post on trends in generative AI adoption for MarTech360 0 and covered the future of CDPs for Ecommerce Age .?
Our CEO addressed recession fears by sharing the best AdTech cost optimization practices with NewDigitalAge and talked about the most efficient approach to CTV challenges.?
A year of thought leadership
As a marketing leader of the organization, I am proud of how committed our team was to producing and sharing in-depth content for everyone interested in the tech side of the industry. We published 10+ in-depth guides on the Xenoss blog—here are my favorites:?
Last year, we also started a newsletter where we share industry news and our software engineering expertise with industry professionals.?
Final thoughts
2023 was a triumphant year for technology. We’ve seen how, through innovation and out-of-the-box thinking, companies can turn around their financial statement and exit the economic downturn fairly unscathed.?
At Xenoss, we tried to apply the same spirit by focusing on ways in which problem-solving can help tackle the industry’s pressing issues. In 2024, we will continue assisting publishers, brands, and tech vendors on their journey to transparency, cost optimization, sustainability, and efficiency.?
