The First Innovation Endorsement of ClassNK in Mainland China—— EEM&PHM system of D-VesselKeeper Ship Management Platform

Recently, WinKong Marine's independently developed D-VesselKeeper Ship Management Platform—Energy Efficiency Management (EEM) and Prognostics and Health Management (PHM) system—successfully obtained Innovation Endorsement from the ClassNK and were awarded the corresponding certificate, which is the first Innovation Endorsement certificate issued by ClassNK in mainland China! In this certification was confirmed that the EEM and PHM systems of D-VesselKeeper have the capability of ClassNK’s Digital Smart Ship “DSS(EE+Sn, MM)” notation, which stands for Energy Efficiency + Sensor, Machinery Monitoring. This marks a significant breakthrough for WinKong Marine in the field of ship digitalization and artificial intelligence, contributing a "WinKong Solution" to the green and safe development of the shipping industry.

Why do we need PHM? During the voyage, unexpected equipment failures may occur leading to safety risks, operation disruptions, leading to increased management, operational and compliance costs for shipowners and managers to varying degree. During WinKong Marine’s 20 years of technical service, WinKong has collaborated with shipowners, ship managers and manufacturers to handle numerous emergency repairs, large-scale retrofits. As a result, WinKong collaborated with Hunan University’s research team specializing in intelligent fault diagnosis and predictive maintenance algorithms for key ship equipment, as well as with a team of senior marine diesel engine experts, to jointly develop the Ship Intelligent Diagnosis and Maintenance PHM system. It utilizes signal processing technology and machine learning algorithms to monitor the operating and health condition and predict potential failures with fault diagnosis of marine diesel engines, generators, turbine and other power plants. Real-time analysis of the health conditions, prediction of faults, and provision of accurate maintenance suggestions to enhance operational efficiency, reduces failure costs and maintenance expenses, ensures vessel safety and achieves the goals of cost reduction and efficiency improvement.

EEM integrates real-time automatic collection and recording of ship energy efficiency, in-depth data analysis and detailed operational carbon intensity reporting, and MRV&DCS automatic certification functions, guaranteeing the accuracy and transparency of ship emission data, significantly reducing personnel workload and minimize the risk of data entry errors. A straightforward data visualization system serves as concrete evidence and key stakeholders in maritime value chain, such as shipowners, ship management companies and charters could master the effectiveness of improvements. Through this system, fuel consumption & bunkering data, key equipment energy efficiency and performance data, and CII can be automatically collected and analyzed to help management personnel adjust operational strategy or low-carbon/zero carbon compliance retrofit solution.
