For every emailer, subject line makes important decision to open mail. I still remember my first inbox "Hotmail" where lots mails were coming without subjectline. Gone are the days, now 1000+ marketer trying to capture your attention with their presence in your inbox.
Every marketer is using different technique to lure you to open the mail.
Majority of email campaign success depends on open rate. Below are quick tricks to increase open rate with good subject line:
1. Simple text make impact: Avoid using difficult word. Put your subject line simple.
2. Short and sweet: Should be of length between 40 to 50 characters or max 60 character. Don't go beyond.
3. Personalization: Before personalization, make sure that relevant data is available. Most of the email service provider are now providing default value if personalized attribute field is null. Make sure, you enter write default value.
4. No BOLD: If you are sending mails with regular interval to customers, make sure that subject line will not be all BOLD words. You can use couple of BOLD words but not all. Chances of mail going into spam are higher if you use BOLD letter subject line
5. Avoid spamming word: Donate, help, assistance, sale, perfect, deals Fwd:, Re:, Shhh!!(Shh!), Secret, Exclusive, free demo,free sample
6. Error free subject line: Careful to have correct spelling in subject line
7. Avoid Internet slang: Use of slang reduces open rate as user will not take it seriously.
8. Use of special symbol: It observed that relevant symbol in subject line help to increase open rate. But avoid using unnecessary symbol every time. A/B testing is the best way to check whether special symbols are working or not.
9. Avoid uses of #,$,@,! in subject line: Uses of these characters, reduces the open rate so try to avoid usage of these characters.
10. Change subject line frequently: If you have series of mail to set of users. Always preferred to change words, styles of subject line
