The First Families Helped By 'Direct to Families' - our Brand New Initiative

This month, we’re thrilled to share the inspiring stories of the very first families we have been able to help through our new initiative at Sunflower Relief: Sunflower Direct To Families. This program focuses on providing direct support to individuals who reach out to us in desperate need, and we are proud to be making a tangible difference in their lives.?

In the last month alone we’ve supported NINE new families with much-needed help.

One of the families we recently supported is led by Natasha Degtjarenko, a devoted single mother residing in Kyiv, Ukraine. Natasha shoulders the immense responsibility of caring for her twin girls, one of whom battles the challenges of Cerebral Palsy. Unfortunately, the ongoing war in Ukraine has further exacerbated their situation, leaving Natasha unable to provide the essential sustenance and daily necessities her daughters need to thrive. Recognising her dire circumstances, Natasha reached out to us for help, and thanks to the hard work of Juliana, we were able to provide significant financial support.?

Our funds have been instrumental in helping Natasha procure crucial food items to ensure the well-being of her resilient daughters. With our assistance, we hope to alleviate the burden on Natasha's shoulders and secure a brighter future for her family.

In addition to Natasha's family, we also had the privilege of assisting Valentina Prodanova and her two grandchildren. Valentina, residing in a village just outside the city of Odessa, found herself in a challenging situation due to the ongoing war. Stepping in to care for her grandchildren, she recognised the pressing need for support as their mother lacked the means to provide for them. Overcoming her inherent reluctance to seek help, Valentina mustered the courage to reach out to Sunflower Relief.? Through generous donations, we aim to ensure that Valentina's grandchildren have access to nourishing sustenance and essential clothing items. By offering our support, we strive to bring comfort and stability to their lives.

These remarkable stories of resilience and determination highlight the extraordinary challenges faced by families in war-torn regions of Ukraine. Through the unwavering dedication of our team and the compassionate support of our donors, we are able to extend a lifeline to those who need it most. Together, we can make a profound difference in the lives of individuals like Natasha, Valentina, and their courageous children.
