The First Ever Conference for Introverted Leaders Was a Resounding Success

We had a great time at Quietly Visible: The Introverted Leaders Conference. Thank you to all speakers and everyone who attended. A big thank you goes to Hayley Hudson my VA who was crucial in the planning and organising of it. Thanks also to the team who helped to make everything go smoothly on the day.

?

We had people attend from Indiana, Maryland, New Jersey, Hawaii, the Netherlands, Scotland, Wales, and other cities throughout the UK as well as London. This speaks volumes of the need for such an event.

We are still going through the feedback surveys but in the meantime, here is some of the feedback and some highlights of the day:

?

The conference was brilliant. I felt seen and heard and found myself nodding along to many of the speakers' comments throughout the day. The energy in the room was positive, friendly and cultivated an inclusive environment.

?

Thank you for organising this conference. It was great that intersectionality was mentioned. I also would like to hear more from introverted leaders who are not university educated or have formal education (that's me!).

?

Really enjoyable and valuable, even though I was virtual. Great variety of subjects and diverse speakers. Although I know a lot about introversion I still learned a lot!

?

It would be nice to keep people engaged with a network drink at the closing. There were many people I still would like to meet.

?

The pacing was good and the quality of the speakers was very high, much better than most

?

Overall was brilliant. Just a tiny thing - if you have a virtual/IRL combo, can you repeat any questions asked in the room as I couldn't hear them

?

Would have been good to have more breakout space as an integral part of the conference to offset the sense of being 'talked at' from the platform though balancing this with hybrid delivery is technically and logistically tricky so the absence was not a huge issue on the day.

?

Difficult to improve from a great start. venue was excellent, scheduling was well managed. Loved the change of emphasis on how to use a networking session.

Thank you Carol for creating this space to connect and network with different introverted leaders across different industries and nationalities.

?

For those of you who attended, keep an eye out next week for copies of the speakers’ slides (once they’ve confirmed they are happy for us to share them) and more photos. Whether you had an in person ticket or virtual ticket, you will be given access to watch the recording for a limited period of time.

As we start to plan for next year's conference, we will take into consideration the feedback and lessons learned.

It has been great to see my vision come to life and together we can shift perceptions and change the narrative, and show the world that introverts make great leaders too.

Whether you attended the conference or not, we would love to hear your thoughts, suggestions, or ideas about topics you would like to see covered in this newsletter or on the podcast that will support you to thrive as a leader, as well as addressing the unfavourable bias towards introversion that exists in many workplaces. Email [email protected] with your suggestions.

In this episode of the podcast I share some of my reflections about the conference.
