first email as vp (of global community that is)

alrighty, so relatively big news that i can finally talk about:) i officially started at torc.dev as their vp of global community. honestly, its just a really fancy title for professional friend maker:) so now that i can announce it, im going to give you a quick run down of this newsletter.?

ive spent the last 10+ years of my career giving back content when it comes to the job search but to be totally honest ive been burnt out. ive been tired of posting the same ‘5 ways to find a job’. now don’t get me wrong im never NOT going to help people or put out that content but i want to pivot this newsletter.?

i want this newsletter to now be a way for you to keep up with the torc community. my responsibility is to literally build this community from the ground up and i want YOU along for the ride! i think this is a special opportunity to bring my entire community along. if you want to unsubscribe then i totally understand no hard feelings:)?

i know you maybe wondering ‘hey taylor you haven’t streamed gc 2.0 in a bit whats going on?’ so gc 2.0 is now going to be the official podcast of torc! so in november i will start streaming all gc 2.0 episodes on the torc linkedin page!?

im super pumped to bring you along for this ride and please let me know if you want to see more of something in our community!

• we are wanting to launch an AI meetup series streamed live from our linkedin page and are looking for the best AI folks you know!?
• we are going to be down in guadaljara for jsconf mexico and i am speaking - one of our focuses is to build community in mexico and LATAM so send all your friends to the torc.dev platform!
• speaking of building community we are needing to grow awareness of who we are in servicenow, salesforce, cisco, and sap communities in mexico/LATAM so if you know any communities in general send them my way
• we are potentially getting a TON of AI engineering spots but we are convincing the client they just need to took at solid backend python engineers who have dabbled in AI. these are all long-term contracts with great pay so if that seems likes something youre interested in let me know!?
