First day under the ceiling painting

After the first day under the ceiling picture in the old baroque theater in Neubrandenburg I saw that more than 10 percent of the color structure was destroyed. Twenty years ago, the ceiling was reconstructed with very fresh wood. Resin appeared on the surface. At these points, the damage was greatest. Yesterday I talked to the technical manager from the construction period. And she told me that the entire hall was painted with a fire-resistant paint, which we were not allowed to remove for legal reasons. So the whole picture is painted on a relatively insecure basis. The first thing I did was remove all the paint that I could mechanically peel off with a spatula. Starting today, it will be a bit more interesting. The casein oil color according to the old recipe is very well done. And so I can continue working with the same color system as I did twenty years ago. Slowly I get used to the strange feeling of holding the brush over me again.
