The First Air Force One

Aviation and Aerospace enthusiast – Dynamic Aviation recently invited me to visit and tour their impressive facilities in Virginia.?Dynamic Aviation is a small innovative and agile aviation company, and I had the opportunity to test fly as crew on one of their prototype IED detection aircraft during my stint (10 years) in the Pentagon serving as a staff officer in HQAF A2- ISR Innovations Office.?Although there were many notable highlights, I was amazed to find they were in the process of restoring the first Air Force One, a Lockheed Constellation built for President Dwight D. Eisenhower.??Just a few years ago, it was wasting away in the desert. Time and neglect relegated it to being used for spare parts.??Now with the help of their engineers, mechanics and craftsmen, Dynamic Aviation is returning this piece of American history back to life for the benefit of future Aviation Enthusiast and will serve as flying museum and a reminder of Americas role during a very pivotal time. ?It will need plenty of work to restore this aircraft to its former flying glory and Dynamic Aviation is dedicated to the task of preserving this iconic and historic aircraft.?While I would love to think I could ride my Kawasaki motorcycle into the hanger and crank on a few bolts ala Top Gun – I’d probably do less damage by just donating to this worthy cause. ?If you can, please visit www.firstairforceone.org and if you think this is worth preserving for future generations - consider donating. ?I look forward to seeing the aircraft return to flight someday and taking its rightful place among the other great aircraft this nation has produced. ?V/R, Chuck
