First Aid Training and more
On March 16, 2024, I participated in an extensive First Aid course facilitated by Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) , alongside Giripremi - India and the Sinhagad Forest Department. This comprehensive training delved into crucial topics like basic first aid, CPR, bandaging techniques, and vital insights into emergency care protocols. Notably, we also had a session dedicated to debunking common first aid myths, ensuring our practices align with scientific evidence.
The knowledge garnered from this course became paramount on March 25th when our team from Giripremi and the Maharashtra Mountaineers Rescue Coordination Centre, successfully executed a rescue mission in the challenging terrain of the K2S trek. It was a testament to the practical application of our newfound skills in real-life scenarios. To read more about this rescue click here
In a proactive stride, I've expanded my first aid kit to include an AMBU bag for artificial respiration. Despite its bulkiness, this addition promises to be a vital asset during emergencies, especially for individuals with asthma or breathing difficulties.
Furthermore, I'm thrilled to share an upcoming opportunity with fellow riders! Sahyadri Trail Seekers and Scan 2 Save is organizing a 'Ride for Safety' campaign on April 21st, and registration is now open to all riders. It's an excellent chance to promote safety awareness and camaraderie within our riding community. click here to register.
Let's continue to empower ourselves with knowledge and preparedness to make a difference in critical situations. Together, we can create safer environments and contribute positively to our communities. Join me in embracing these initiatives for a safer, healthier tomorrow! #FirstAid #SafetyFirst #CommunityEngagement #Empowerment #RideForSafety
