Firenze - Fontana del Porcellino

In the center of Florence, only 100 meters from the Ponte Vecchio and Piazza della Signoria, you will find the Fontana del Porcellino. 

It is a small piece of art in bronze, a wild boar, that is placed in the beautiful open aired Mercato Nuovo. 

The popular belief in Florence, is if you touch the snout of the wild bore it will bring you good luck.

As you can see by the color of the snout of the wild boar, this gestures is repeated by millions of tourist and Florentines every year.

Today, I also touched the snout ( naturally with gloves), hopefully you will also have the chance soon.
