I hope everyone is safe and in good spirits. There is so much devastation across the southeastern United States; our thoughts and prayers go out to all affected by Hurricane Ian.?

Business Owners now is an excellent opportunity to give back. There are so many people that need assistance. It is our duty and responsibility to help and support those in need in the capacities we can assist.?

There are many different and creative ways to provide help and support to those in need. Gone are the days when small businesses, organizations, and corporations are allowed to ignore the suffering of those around us, especially in the wake of natural disasters.?

If you want to make a statement, an impact, and make a significant imprint on history, reach out and help. Businesses do not have to expend large amounts of money to help. Here are a few ways to support in the midst of catastrophes such as Hurricane Ian:?

• Stock supplies in preparation for hurricane victims
• Organize efforts to collect supplies with other entities
• Volunteer to help set up shelters
• If you have a facility, Establish safe shelters for public safety
• Provide shelter and food until families can return home
• Prepare and Serve food
• Hand out water, food, and emergency supplies to affected neighborhoods
• Organize medical support for those affected
• Provide medical care for anyone in need
• Give guidance, hope, and comfort to the community
• Read to children in shelters
• Create activities, crafts, and educational activities for school-age children.
• Create fun packs for kids affected (i.e., crayons, coloring books, books, puzzles, etc.)
• Provide clean-up supplies
• Organize the collection of cleaning supplies
• Work with families in developing recovery plans

Find ways to extend a helping hand. No contribution is too small. People need our help and support. Let’s find ways to show love and support, even if it is a prayer or a text.?
