Fire services make progress to improve culture but more must be done, fire inspectorate warns...
Emergency Services Times
For the latest news and information on all emergency services.
Hi Reader,
Yesterday, His Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS) published a report on the handling of misconduct within fire and rescue services. While the inspectorate noted early signs of improvement, the report also highlighted pockets of unacceptable behaviour that persist. HMICFRS has made 15 recommendations to chief fire officers and fire and rescue authorities, which you can read more about in the story below.
On another note, I was interested to learn that Norfolk Constabulary has been selected by the National Police Chiefs' Council to trial a 'Drone as First Responder' initiative. This means drones could soon be remotely deployed to be the first on the scene at police incidents. It's a fascinating step forward, and I'll be eagerly watching to see how it unfolds.
