Stripe
An exciting announcement saw Stripe become the most valuable private company in Silicon Valley. Following a round of funding, Stripe’s value sored to £69billion. The company build software allowing businesses to process payments online. Founded by Irish brothers Patrick and John Collins they each have a 12 percent stake in the business worth a whopping £8.3billion each.
eToro
eToro are to go public through a $10billion merger with VSPAC. As part of the merger both companies will raise $650million by selling shares to companies such as Vision Fund 2 and Third Point. eToro, a trading app, was founded in 2007 and has since expanded into 100 countries. The business has 20 million users worldwide. Interest in amateur investing has boomed since the start of the pandemic and the company gained 1.2 million new users in January alone.
Yap
During its Series B round of funding, Yap raised $10million which was co-led by Flourish Ventures and Omidyar Network India. Yap’s platform allows digital platforms, FinTech companies and offline businesses to bring customised solutions to the end user. The app connects businesses to other FinTech platforms and non-banking finance companies.
