Finnish Immigration Service announces changes to residency application processing fees
The Finnish Immigration Service declared the revised changes to the processing fees for residency applications which will go into effect from January 1, 2024. The Ministry of Interior’s regulation which governs these changes will apply to different application categories.
There was an overall increase in residency applications in 2023, with an average of 1,400 applications per week. This surpasses the previous year’s numbers recorded.

The authority encourages online submissions via the Enter Finland platform for cost savings and increased efficiency. Online applications are more affordable and processed more quickly compared to the paper submissions. In addition to streamlining the application procedure, Enter Finland also allows applicants to track their status of applications and submit any additional required documents.

Fee for online and offline applications
Applicants are advised to consult the official Processing Fees and Payment Methods website for a detailed list of processing fees and available payment options.
Current fee remains unchanged for certain applications
The Finnish Immigration Service has made it clear that the current fees will remain unchanged for those applications not processed by December 31, 2023. This ensures that those candidates who are already in the application process won’t be affected by these changes.
