Finished Painting: Canto 3, Dante's Inferno
Eric Armusik
Classical Figurative Artist and Portrait Painter - Currently Painting the most epic series on Dante's Inferno
The first panel in my Dante's Inferno series (Canto 3) is finished. This large 4ft x 5ft painting is the first panel in a series of 40 paintings I am working on over the next 3 years for this epic poem. The final series will be exhibited in a museum show and I will be collaborating on a book with world-renowned Dante scholar, Dr. Christopher Kleinhenz.

8 年Stunning! It seems like I could reach out and touch the fabrics. The expression on the man's face is interesting.

8 年I'm not convinced of either characters disposition or the interest of what plays between them nor the disquieting moment stirring at the threshold of perdition. Technically well executed but it holds its virtuosity within the work, very little manages to pry itself from the palette or exude from the brush. Well...this is my experience standing among the two and seeing fate fall within a reckoning would come to regard the piece.
