Finish what you start

Finish what you start

Do you have a list of things you want to do but cannot complete for various reasons? Perhaps you wanted to make that phone call to a family member or finish some unfinished work at home. Maybe there are some emails you are yet to respond to or a colleague or team to recognize for their outstanding contribution.

Life frequently presents us with new opportunities and challenges. In our quest to achieve more, we often take on new tasks without finishing the previous ones, delaying decisions that aren't urgent for a later time.

We unconsciously procrastinate, thinking we'll have enough time to complete everything. However, when tasks keep piling up on our to-do list, we add stress and pressure to our minds to get things done.

Consider holding a glass of water in your hand. Initially, it might not feel heavy or bothersome. But if you hold that glass for an hour, it feels heavier and more bothersome. If you hold it continuously for a day, it becomes so heavy that it stops you from doing other activities.

The to-do items we keep holding in our minds work the same way as the glass of water in our hands. The longer we hold on, the more troublesome they become.

What if we didn't have to worry about so many things? Imagine how much we could accomplish with a shorter backlog.

Our mind is limitless, and we have the potential for unlimited possibilities. We must find ways to prioritize what’s most important to us.

When our body signals pain or discomfort, we seek a doctor or medicine to help us get better. We rest and take necessary precautions. But what about the pain or discomfort of our mind and spirit?

We often ignore the signals of our mind when negative emotions kick in. When we feel emotionally uncomfortable, we should label our feelings and ask ourselves what actions we should take to get back to normal. Is there a to-do item we have been ignoring?

Excellence comes when we align our thoughts and actions. The universe guarantees successful outcomes for those who take responsibility for themselves. Start listing your to-do items and finish what you have started. It will give you the confidence to excel at everything in life.
