FinFest 2024 Special Edition Newsletter
Jacksonville Speech & Hearing Center
?? PROVIDING ACCESS TO A WORLD OF COMMUNICATION FOR NORTHEAST FLORIDA ??
FinFest was held on May 11th at Timuquana Country Club and JSHC raised over $255,000 to support our Fund-A-Child program, speech, language, and audiology services, and all that we serve!?
It was a gorgeous and clear summer day and we couldn’t ask for better weather to enjoy all the beautiful views of Timuquana and to be in the company of so many wonderful supporters, many loyal ones as well as newcomers.?Nearly 400 people came to FinFest in their best beachy attire!
We kicked off the event with a special VIP Reception hosted by CEO Michael Howland JD, MA, CAE and Board Chair Jim White .
The Jaguars Roar Cheerleaders greeted each VIP guest and adorned them with an orchid lei flown in from Hawaii!
Our FinFest Chairs John-Paul Saenz, P.E. and Jennifer Saenz, along with Honorary Chairs Captain Matt Tuohy & Susan Tuohy, Renee Parenteau & Captain James Agee, Cason Schneider & Grayson Eastman, and Artis & Enola Gay Gilmore led the event and mingled among the guests in support of Jacksonville Speech & Hearing Center.
This year marked Katie Jeffries 11th FinFest as Emcee and she has recently been elected to join JSHC’s Board of Directors! We are so thrilled to have her on board!
New this year we featured the “Talk of the Town Award” to recognize one of our speech patients. All of our SLPs voted on Ithan Hodge as the award recipient for his tremendous progress during speech-language therapy. We played a special video during the program in which Ithan’s Mom gave a glowing testimonial on the support services she received from JSHC and the Fund-A-Child Program, especially as a single parent juggling work, family, and her two sons.?
Lastly, we had Fund-A-Child Champion Al Emerick generate excitement for our live ask as well as dedicate a song to JSHC, “Doors Wide Open.”?
You can sing-a-long to the chorus here:
Doors wide open, through ups, downs, and betweens,
Destined to pull together, by any and all means.?
Doors wide open, 75 more’s a helluva goal,
Jacksonville Speech and Hearing Center,?
Service built by soul!
