The Fine Art of Resume Writing

The Fine Art of Resume Writing

This week, my main focus was writing out my first initial resume. It was daunting. I felt like I did not even know where to begin, and as I listed my experience and skills, I felt uneasy. Is this going to be enough?

As most of my peers know, the job market is tough, and a good resume can take you a long way. We are all accomplished in our ways, coming from various experiences and job histories. So how do we convey that to the person reading it? How do we show our true selves to someone who does not know a thing about us?

I am a perfectionist and creative, so putting together something like this should flow. Well, it didn't, and to be quite honest, it is not near where I want it to be. I faced the most prominent writer's block I have had in quite some time, but slowly, it came together. I started, and built off of what I had.

Resume building is a reflection of careers as well. It begins with you taking the leap of faith and just going for it. Once you have some foundation, you can shape it personally, but it takes time.

I am grateful for the growth I know will come my way, and I am ready to showcase the best version of myself professionally.
