Finding Yourself One Day at A Time

Finding Yourself One Day at A Time

As the year winds down, many of us find ourselves reflecting on what was, what is, and what’s to come. December, with its blend of celebration and introspection, is a powerful reminder of the gifts we carry—and the gifts we often take for granted.

One of the most extraordinary gifts in this season of giving is the people who show up for us, sometimes without realizing how much they truly mean. These champions and supporters—the friends, family, mentors, and colleagues who believe in us even when we struggle to believe in ourselves—are anchors in life’s storms. They remind us of our strength and potential, especially when the weight of the world feels overwhelming.

Their encouragement is a lifeline during tough times, whispering (or shouting) what we sometimes forget: You are capable, resilient, and amazing. These people are treasures, and it’s important to acknowledge their impact, not only on our lives but on the lives of others.

At the same time, it’s okay to feel everything deeply—grief, sadness, frustration, or doubt. These emotions are part of being human. Allow yourself the grace to sit with them. But remember, they are visitors, not permanent residents. Don’t unpack and live there too long. Feel them, process them, and then take a step forward, even if it’s a small one.

When life feels overwhelming, remind yourself that you don’t have to have it all figured out. This moment, no matter how difficult, is temporary. Growth comes not from perfection but from perseverance. Keep trying, especially when it’s hard. Lean into your network, share your burdens, and let others hold you up when you can’t do it alone.

As we step into the new year, take time to express gratitude for the champions in your life. They are more than supporters; they are reflections of the love and strength that exists within you. And if you ever feel lost, know this: you are still finding yourself, one day at a time.

You are worth every effort, every step forward, and every ounce of belief in yourself.

Wishing you peace, resilience, and hope this holiday season, Cheers, Dee!

Coaching Tip: Finding Yourself and Leaning on Your Network

  • Lean on Your Network: Surround yourself with champions who believe in you, and don’t hesitate to ask for support when needed.
  • Process, Then Progress: Feel your emotions fully, but don’t dwell on them. Take small steps forward, even when it’s hard.
  • Focus on Progress Over Perfection: Growth comes from effort, not having it all figured out. Celebrate small wins.
  • Express Gratitude: Acknowledge and thank those who uplift you—they’re part of your journey.
  • Believe in Yourself: Remember, tough times are temporary. You are capable, resilient, and worthy of success.
