No. I am not at all going to discuss anything spiritual. Neither I am any authority to do so nor I am in a mood. This is just in continuation of my earlier article about knowing oneself.
My profession requires me to interact with variety of people everyday. I don't know how and when I developed this habit of observing people, their actions, their gestures, their responses etc. Every time I do so, these kind of so called 'spiritual' thoughts flash in my mind.
Every day, we perform various roles. We are obedient child of our parents, we are caring and loving parent of our kids, we are employee or employer, team leader or team member, boss, manager, supervisor, commuter, passenger, customer, supplier.... What not? The list can continue to any extent. But while performing all these roles, do we really look at ourselves for a second? Do we really know ourselves? I am not asking about your physical appearance. I am asking about your inner self.
Many a times, you tend to forget over a period of time, what exactly you wanted to be. Many of us become what they wanted to, many more become what situation wants them to be. In either of the case, what we forget is to nurture ourselves and make ourselves a good human being.
Without stretching it long, I would like to request your comments on a statement made by one of seniors in the profession. He said,"Be a good human being, you will become a good professional."
What do you say....?

7 年Definitely Sir, first we need to become good humans, then rest of the things. But most of the times we are driven by the flow of situation and we reach some other destination than where we actually wanted to go. A person may become a good professional through knowledge, experience, intelligence but to become a good human wisdom is essential.

7 年Very well written.. I think if you are honest and do anythig with good intentions, people around you in ptofessional set up definitely appreciate that... there are few additional qualities required for a good human being to become good professional. Vice versa is not true, good professionals may not be necessarily good human beings..
