Today, I am called to share a part of my journey that has been instrumental in defining who I am and the path I’ve chosen. My hope is that this message will inspire, encourage, and empower you on your own journey to self-discovery and acceptance.
The Quest for True Identity
“Who am I?” This question might seem simple at first, but trust me, it’s everything but. For the longest time, I found myself tangled in labels — professions, roles, recognitions. But digging deep, I realized these were just facets of my existence, not the core of my being. The true journey began when I started questioning not what I do, but who I really am beneath the surface.
I have learned that each one of us is an intricate tapestry of experiences, emotions, and beliefs. Our identities cannot be boxed into worldly labels or achievements. Instead, they are a reflection of our inner selves, our core values, our faith, and our purpose. This journey of self-discovery has been the most rewarding and transformative experience of my life, and I’m here to share it with you.
Faith: The Guiding Compass
In this journey, faith was more than just a part; it was my guide. It led me through the winding paths of self-doubt and fear towards the light of self-acceptance and love. I came to understand that my identity was tied not to worldly achievements but to something far greater. My worth, seen through the eyes of Jesus, was predetermined—priceless and irreplaceable. This realization brought freedom—in knowing who you are and whose you are—our identity is found in Christ.
“Therefore,?if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” 2 Corinthians 5:17
The Power of Forgiveness
Forgiveness… oh, how heavy a word, yet how liberating an action. Sharing some of the deepest parts of my story, including moments of trauma, I’ve seen first-hand the chains that bitterness and resentment can wrap around one’s heart. By choosing forgiveness, I chose freedom. I chose me. This choice has been pivotal in my journey towards embracing my true, confident self.
“To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you.” – Lewis B. Smedes
From Victims to Victors
Throughout my journey, a recurring theme has been the powerful choice we all have: to live as victims of our past or as victors of our faith and forgiveness. It’s about choosing not to let our past define our future but to let our faith and forgiveness carve out a path of victory.
Our past experiences shape us, but they don’t define us. Our true identity isn’t tied to the trials we’ve faced but to the strength, resilience, and faith we’ve displayed in overcoming them.

Here’s to finding our true identity and embracing it wholeheartedly. Here’s to recognizing our worth, not by the world’s standards but by God’s divine love and acceptance.
