Finding Your Niche

Don’t take this personal
But one of the biggest mistakes people make when starting their own personal brand is that they are too god-damn GENERIC.
As a result, they end up looking like all of their competitors… and fail to differentiate themselves.
Case in point, the new age “I help entrepreneurs find their Ideal Girlfriend in 90 days,” punchline…
I know many vulnerable men have fallen for this trap...
But to clients, this makes you look like “just another generic dating coach business”
And to girls, this makes you look like “just another guy,” if you’re using a similar approach on Online Dating.
In both business and dating, if you don’t differentiate yourself, you end up BLENDING IN…
Like a Zebra in a herd. Or a cog in a machine… Hard to notice and easily replaceable!
So in business, dating, and life… the key to getting noticed is to STAND OUT.
How do you do that?
By creating your “USP” - Unique Selling Proposition.
It’s your “hook.”
Your “angle.”
How do you find it?
By asking yourself what makes you different from all the other fish in the sea?
One of the biggest mistakes people first make when they get into business is that they try to offer EVERYTHING to EVERYONE.
This is a recipe for failure.
Trust me, I’ve done this before and it always makes it far too complicated for the person who wants to learn from you...
You see, by targeting too large of a market, and offering too large of a solution, you end up watering down your audience and your offer…
It’s far better to be a big fish in a small pond than a small fish in a big pond.
Why might you ask?
Because the small fish in the big pond are competing with millions of other small fish for the same scraps.
But the big fish in the small pond gets everything for himself. Even if the pond is smaller, the rewards are far greater.
The benefit of choosing a narrow niche is that it allows you to easily become a big fish in a small pond.
Instead of trying to compete with countless other “small fish” in a big pond, you can easily set yourself apart and dominate your unique niche -- something that is very hard to do in a crowded market.
For example, when one of my students started working with me, he was a “generalist” in field of Copywriting…and he was struggling to differentiate himself from all the other countless “direct response” copywriters in his arena...
As a result, he couldn’t find the quantity and quality of clients he wanted.
So when we started working together, I helped him define and zero-in on his specific niche, and almost overnight, he had clients coming to HIM.
That’s the magic of choosing a niche. Just by narrowing down and being clear about the specific audience you serve, you automatically become far more attractive to that audience.
And the same applies in your dating life…
The more specifically you define the exact kind of girl you want, the more easily you’ll be able to ATTRACT that kind of girl.
Think about it from the girl’s perspective. What is more attractive:
“I have zero standards, I don’t know what I want, and any girl with a pulse will do just fine. Swiping right on repeat.”
Versus…
“I love tall blonde yoga girls who are into fitness, diet, and healthy lifestyle.”
If you were a tall blonde yoga girl, which would you respond to? The guy who was a “generalist” ready to go with any girl who accepted him? Or the guy who knows what he wants?
Don’t lie to yourself…
You know the answer.
So choose your audience, tell them about your unique offer, and enjoy the benefits of standing out from the competition.
And attracting the kind of connections you’ve always dreamed of
