I have been actively exploring AI applications since 2023. Learning to use ChatGTP is the first step a person should take to develop AI skills. I based this guide on Microsoft Copilot because CoPilot is one of the simplest ways to access ChatGPT-4. Copilot is easy to obtain, powerful, easy to use, and currently available for free. Of course, other generative AI tools, including several free ones, can accomplish similar goals.

Copilot is also a good tool for job seekers.

Navigating the job market can be challenging, mainly if you’ve been laid off recently. But there’s hope! Microsoft Copilot can assist you in your job search journey. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed or need a bit of guidance, Copilot can be your trusted companion. Here’s how you can leverage Copilot to find your next opportunity.

How to get Started with Microsoft Copilot.

If you are a Microsoft customer, you may already have Copilot since it’s integrated into various Microsoft 365 apps like Word, Excel, and Outlook. At least for now, you can also access a free version by opening Bing (https://www.bing.com), installing the Microsoft Edge browser (https://www.microsoft.com/edge), or downloading a mobile version of Copilot from the App Store (iOS/iPad) or Google Play Store (Android). Free versions may respond a little slowly during peak traffic conditions.

Once you have access, you can start using Copilot to streamline your job search. This document begins with a quick summary and includes an appendix with additional information.

If you are new to AI and want a quick idea of what you can do, you may want to modify the following prompt with the correct options and enter it into the Copilot window where it says, “Ask me anything.”

“Hello Copilot, please show me job announcements for [job name, position title] in [city, state, country, region] that specify [remote work, work from anywhere, onsite] that were released in the last [week, month, quarter].”

Copilot’s response may include suggestions and other questions you might want to consider. Copilot remembers the conversation so that you can respond to these suggestions directly. You will also find links to the sources, and you can copy or download the conversation.
