Finding Your Ikigai!

Welcome to my first Newsletter!

Iam sure that you would have come across the concept of IKIGAI!

if not, here it is!

There are many ways to define?Ikigai One way to put it is to say that Ikigai is the reason you get up in the morning. It could be something very small like having a cup of coffee and a chocolate. And something that makes your day go on. That is Ikigai.

On the other hand – Ikigai can be?a?life-defining, very big goal, like going to Mars or winning the Nobel Prize or becoming the Prime Minister of a country. So Ikigai can be something small or something big. So in a nutshell, Ikigai is a spectrum. And the complexity of Ikigai actually reflects the complexity of life itself.

–?Ken Mogi , author of?The Little Book of IKIGAI

There are 5 core steps that you need to do to make Ikigai work:

  1. Find what you love doing (your passion)
  2. Find what the world needs (your mission)
  3. Find out what you’re good at (your vocation)
  4. Find what you can be paid for (your profession)
  5. Find the intersection of the four above and focus all of your attention on that.

This is one of the most written and spoken topic of recent times after release of the book called " Ikigai: The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life

About myself?

I am a 26 years old woman who is still trying to figure out my purpose and achieving small steps towards my big dreams.

And I can easily say that am a work in progress rather than completely sorted out kind of a person,

All my life I have been reading only self-help books and,

When I came across IKIGAI,

My only thoughts were,

How can i apply this concept for my betterment?

And when I looked around for the people with similar roads as mine,

There were lot of articles/Post about the end destination,

Like achievements and success stories!

But only very few spoke about how they did it?

Who helped them to do it ?

Obstacles faced by them and how they tackled it?

What should someone with similar aspirations do to get there?

?I couldn’t find about a journey of a work in progress person who is still trying to find out their purpose in life,

And so decided to create this newsletter to share my professional, gratitude and life journey for similar people to relate!

After reading the newsletter, I just remembered the time I first met you. From whatever very little I could know about you, I understood that you were a mature girl and have the zeal to learn new things. You have come a long way. I'm sure you'll not stop giving your 100% till you achieve whatever you wanted to achieve. I wish you all the best, Kiru!!
