Finding Your GA4 Measurement ID

I asked members of the Automotive Standards Council (ASC) to list some of the top pain points they have documented as they support dealers who are configuring GA4 to comply with the ASC Specification. In Google Analytics, dealers need to know the Measurement ID for each store if they want all their vendors to send ASC events into GA4 properly.

For practical purposes, the Measurement ID could be considered the "GA4 bank account number" that vendors need to "wire" their valuable event data into the dealer's GA4 account. Since dealers don't have mobile apps, all dealership vendors will use the same Measurement ID to send ASC events.

The Property ID refers to the entire GA4 account, since there are cases when more than one Measurement ID is created.

Dealers are confusing Property ID with Measurement ID according to vendor support teams. So, let's see how to find the Measurement ID. This is the only number that dealers need to give vendors. In some cases, the dealers will also need to create a Secret Key , which was covered in a previous article.

How To Find The Measurement ID

Click on the Admin menu wheel and then click on Data Streams as shown below.

The next screen can trick people into thinking that they have nothing to do. However, you need to click on the store listed on the screen, as shown below:

Then, the final web streams data page will be displayed, as shown below. This is the page where you will find the Measurement ID. Send this number to your vendors who need to send data into GA4.

You can also click on the "copy icon" and paste this number into your GA4 planning spreadsheet which I covered in a previous article .

How To Find The Property ID

Finding the Property ID can be easily found by clicking on the Admin screen button, as shown below:
