In the busyness of modern life we can often find ourselves spinning plates. Work, relationships, health, finances – keeping everything running smoothly can be a real challenge.?
The Wheel of Life is a really useful tool that can help you achieve the balance you’re looking for.?
I’ve included an example below but you can always choose different headings to best suit your own life.?
What Is The Wheel of Life??
The Wheel of Life is a simple yet effective coaching tool that breaks life down into different areas, each represented by a segment on the wheel. Common segments include career, finances, health, relationships, personal development, and leisure. The wheel allows you to assess your?current satisfaction levels in each area at any given point in time, giving you a snapshot of where you’re at in each area. I personally like to do this at the end of every month – I call this my monthly audit.?
Reflecting On Each Area Of Your Life?
Take a moment to reflect on each area represented on the Wheel of Life. Rate your current satisfaction with each area on a scale from 1 to 10, with 1 being the least satisfied and 10 being the most satisfied. This quick exercise provides a snapshot of your life and highlights areas that may require attention.?
Identifying Priorities?
Once you've assessed each area of your life, identify priorities based on your values and goals. Consider which areas require more attention and which contribute most significantly to your overall well-being. Remember, just because you have scored an area with a low number, doesn’t mean it has to be your first priority and vice versa - this is a very personal exercise and the areas you choose to prioritise first are determined by your own unique motivations and aspirations.?
This step sets the stage for intentional goal-setting and action planning.?
Setting SMART Goals?
When you're setting goals, think SMART: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. Whether it's improving?your work-life balance, diving into personal growth, or enhancing your?relationships, clear goals make the difference.?
Small, Consistent Steps?
Creating a balanced life isn't a sprint; it's a marathon of small, achievable?steps. Break your big goals into bite-sized tasks. Celebrate the wins along the way.?This approach not only maintains momentum but also reinforces a positive mindset.?
