FINDING THE QUIET

FINDING THE QUIET

A Way Of Being

I walk slowly down the?road leaving footprints in the dew, making my way into the day with soft steps.?The morning brings many sounds, the birds singing, the distant train whistleblowing, haunting and sad.?A whippoorwill calls and I hear the sound of deer passing on the trail.?I listen more than I speak and seek to move through the day quietly, almost invisible.?I embrace the quiet in all I do, finding the calm in my way of being.

I must find the quiet in all I do, stress and anxiety are waiting for me on a road I passed long ago.

They have a long and lonesome wait as I rest within my garden in the shade of an oak feeling calm and quiet.?It is a place where the water is cool, the forest deep and green.?I have found many friends in this place and friendship and laughter are abundant and free-flowing.?The garden is filled with flowers of many colors and they feel the quiet when friends visit them.?The colors become bold and vibrant.

The shadows are long, and I have traveled far today.?The sun will gift the day with a collage of colors and the dark will quietly say goodnight to the sun, bringing the stars to fill the night sky.?The quiet is the strongest during the night.?It is a time where writers use strong ink to tell bold, beautiful, and tender stories.?The artist places a blank canvas on an easel and paints the colors of passion, mystery, sadness, and joy filling the canvas with life, love, and living.?The musician will sing sad songs, hitting notes so tender you will hurt within your heart hoping the chords will change, and slowly you will hear the tender notes filled with love and healing.

Soon the night will bring the silence and awaken our dreams.?We will visit our memories and journey to new dreams and places we have never seen.?We can dream within the quiet and fill our hearts for the coming day.?

A day where we walk softly, listen more than we speak, and walk down the road a few more miles than yesterday.
