Finding my 'why' in solving the biggest challenges

Why? It is probably the most important question we ask of others and ourselves. Often, the answer to this question isn't always easy to get or accept. Yet, it is a question that we must never cease from asking. After all, it provides the most important answers – from the mundane to the bigger questions of life. In my two decades at Infosys, it is a question that I have asked myself often – why do I do, what I do? Sure, it means growing the business, leading and transforming teams, delivering results, and representing Infosys to clients, investors, governments, and other stakeholders. But this is a role I could have played at any large organization, so why Infosys?

Before joining this organization as a Senior Business Development Manager, I worked at two large international banks. The reason I wake up excited each morning is the change that we as a technology firm can bring. I don't just mean change for our clients but also how we can enable them to impact their customers' lives meaningfully. For example, take our recent partnership with Vanguard (which I am hugely excited about). Because the world will face a pensions crisis as the population of over-60s will double to two billion people by 2050 – mainly because people are living longer. Modern technology can automate routine functions and create richer data and insights to inspire better investor behavior. For example, Vanguard applies artificial intelligence to study participant behavior and improve engagement, nudging spenders into savers, leading to more positive action from clients—and ultimately more money in retirement. Infosys brings a broad set of innovations to Vanguard, fuelled in large part by AI and process automation, with human-centered design, digital innovation, and technical execution that we are known for. Together, we will deploy the industry's first fully cloud-based record-keeping technology platform that will empower Vanguard to embrace emerging technologies and deliver innovative solutions at a never-before-seen-pace.
