Finding My Way

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about how we navigate life. It’s like being out at sea, and instead of a compass or map, we rely on our consciousness—our internal guide—to make choices and find direction. Sometimes, I wonder how often I’ve drifted off course without even realizing it, simply because I wasn’t paying attention to my own thoughts or actions.
I’ve seen consciousness as my lighthouse, helping me see through the fog. The clearer and more focused it is, the easier it is to move forward. But I’m realizing that consciousness isn’t something you’re born with fully developed. It grows with time, shaped by the things I’ve learned, my experiences, and the reflections I make along the way.
Looking back, so much of what I thought I knew came from the people around me—my family, friends, teachers, even society. But just like a lighthouse can sometimes be too dim or misaligned, those external influences don’t always guide me in the right direction. And that’s okay. What’s important is recognizing when I’ve veered off course and then adjusting my own inner light.
It’s empowering to know that I can reset my direction whenever I need to. If I find myself somewhere I never intended to be, I can always re-focus, set new goals, and start again. The key is being conscious of the choices I make every day, big or small.
I’ve also realized that my consciousness needs constant nourishment, like a plant that grows stronger with care. It feeds on the things I focus on—the books I read, the people I talk to, the challenges I face. It’s my responsibility to keep it healthy by being mindful of what I allow into my mind and what I choose to dwell on.
In the end, consciousness isn’t about reaching a final destination; it’s about staying curious, open, and willing to grow. The light helps me see clearly, even when things get difficult or uncertain. And as long as I keep that light burning, I know I’ll be able to navigate through whatever comes next.
