Finding My Leadership Path: A Journey

Finding My Leadership Path: A Journey

I've always been driven by fear of untapped potential. This fear has coexisted with me all my life and has fueled a constant desire to grow, a drive to push my self beyond my capabilities and achieve more. Recently, however, this desire has take anew dimension: a passion to help others grow, to guide and inspire those around me towards a shared goal.

Why this sudden shift towards leadership? I don't know, perhaps it's because I see so many talented individuals struggling to reach their full potential, hindered by a lack of direction. Or maybe it's the influence of the leaders in my life, both good and bad, who have shaped my understanding of the importance of strong leadership.

Embracing this new found passion I dived head first into the world of leadership. With out a formal title I experimented with different approaches, learning valuable lessons along the way. Hear are few insights and would appreciate your feedback.

  • Authenticity over Perfection: True connection and growth require authenticity. By being genuine and vulnerable, we can foster deeper relationships and inspire others to be their best selves.
  • Guiding, Not Delegate: A leader's prime role is not delegating but to empower. By providing guidance, inspiration, and direction, we can elevate our team members and help them become leaders in their own right.
  • Approachable Leadership: Building trust and fostering collaboration requires approachability. By being accessible and empathetic, we can create a positive and supportive work environment.
  • The Art of Balance: While micromanagement can be detrimental, it's sometimes necessary, especially when working with new or struggling team members. Striking the right balance is key.
  • Leadership is not always glamorous. It demands hard work, sacrifice, and a commitment to the well-being of others.

As I continue my journey, I ponder these questions:

  • What should a true motive of a leader be?
  • Do you need a guide or forge your own path? Is better to be a arjuna who got trained by Krishna or to be an Ekalavya?
  • How should one handle those who consistently let others down?
  • Is an MBA necessary for my career ?

I invite you to share your thoughts and insights. Your feedback will help me refine my approach and continue to grow.
