Finding Light in the Darker Months

I can't lie, I'm not a fan of January...or February. They are not my favourite months of the year as I do so love the summer.??
I know for many of my clients too when the days grow shorter and the nights longer, they start to feel their mood drop.
But here’s the good news—there are so many ways to lift your spirits and feel good about yourself as we patiently wait for the lighter days to return.
And I don't know about you, but the weeks and months whizz by so quickly, the summer will be here in no time.??
In the meantime though, here are some small, intentional actions that can make all the difference.
?? Cosy Indoor Activities
Sometimes, the best way to brighten a gloomy day is to lean into the cosiness of home. Curl up with a book ??, experiment with a creative project like painting or do a jigsaw ??. I personally love to do a jigsaw and completed a 1000 piece one over xmas and loved it. These type of activities have a way of making you feel grounded.
?? Stay Connected
Being cosy indoors doesn't necessarily mean hibernating. Staying connected with family and friends is so important. Plan a cosy get-together, a virtual catch-up, or a walk with a friend in the crisp air??. A simple conversation can do wonders for the soul.
?? Set Tiny Goals

When the days feel like they’re blending together, set small, achievable goals to give yourself a sense of accomplishment. It could be organising one drawer, updating your playlist, or finally deleting your inbox that you’ve been meaning to get to. Every little win builds momentum and confidence.
?? Try Something New
Exploring a new hobby can bring some excitement to your routine. My new goal this year is to learn Portuguese. Being surrounded by Brazilians so much of the time, it feels like an obvious thing to do.
Diving into something unfamiliar can be a welcome escape from the monotony.??
A Final Thought to Brighten Your Day
So, if the darker months feel long to you too, remember they are also an opportunity to slow down, reflect, and care for yourself in ways that matter most.
Here’s to finding light, joy, and moments of warmth even when it's cold outside ?
To your health,
Jules

1 个月Yes I don't love Jan or Feb either! More of a Spring and Autumn fan - the transitional seasons. Summer is too full on for me.
