Finding joy and abundance

I recently shared with you my own?3-step method?to get OUT of the feelings of disappointment and this week I’m going to share with you some tips on how I go a step further to welcome joy into my life.
If we are to live a life that truly bubbles with happiness it’s not enough to live with ‘let’s just get over it’, we need to consciously find ways to switch it up a gear and actively build a life that embraces?joy?and its partner,?creative energy.?
Let’s talk first about?joy. To truly experience joy means to allow ourselves to feel great pleasure and happiness. If you are someone that struggles to allow yourself to experience joy, it might be worth looking at letting go of the?self-criticism?and denial that might be holding you back.?Deliberate actions?that I use to unlock joy are to spoil myself with flowers, a massage, a lie-in or a walk on the beach. Anything that opens me to feelings of pure pleasure. My own benchmark is when I want to fling my arms wide and feel happiness burst out I know I have truly liberated joy. Simply put,?joy is a gift we give to ourselves.?
Creative energy?on the other hand is the feeling that bubbles up inside us at the prospect of good things to come. To stay fully inspired by our lives we all need an element of creative excitement. As entrepreneurs, creative energy is often the?inspiration?that drives us to start our own thing. The deliberate actions I take to?unlock?this feeling can be as simple as planting fresh seeds in my garden and anticipating their lush future, but what I find especially fulfilling is the creative excitement of designing a new product, brand message or even a new business! Bring it on…
So yes, I am someone who loves the feelings of joy and creative energy, but like everyone else I also have periods when this needs an extra nudge, which is why I have devised a simple two-step IN method to help me actively step up into joy. It goes like this:
I is for invite joy.?I remind myself to actively?seek?moments of joy in my day. I find reasons to smile, laugh and express joy and?allow?myself to feel their pleasure.
N is for next steps.?To maintain this level of joyful?abundance, I set aside?time?for creativity in both my personal and professional life. I have become very aware how important this next step of creative energy is to fill my bucket of well-being.
So, if you have times when you need a bit of a push to get back to the feelings of abundant happiness, why not use my method for getting OUT of disappointment and back IN to joy.
